As an artistic intervention in the immediate vicinity of Mauterndorf Castle, a galvanized steel footbridge has been created. This footbridge is part of a very scenic footpath around the castle. Its special feature are two 4 m long bridge arms, which can be operated by a single lightweight hand crank via a rope drive, the construction completely dispenses with mechanical drive. The drawbridge spans a tributary of the Taurach and is located on the north side of the castle.
The bridge, including the approach structures, has a total length of 24.60 m and a width of 1.30 m.
